Our Easter journey pt 2

The boys painted. The rooster reminded them of how Peter denied Jesus 3 times and encouraged them to tell others about Jesus.

Made Easter bookmarks using do-a-dot markers. The boys gave them away to their friends and Sunday School teachers.

More do-a-dot in making their personalised cross.

I drew a red dot on their palm so that they remember how Jesus died for them.

They were intrigued by the nails, which were placed in the resurrection egg. Used the nails to form a heart shape.

Vinegar was given to Jesus just before He died. The boys tasted a little bit of the rice vinegar to experience the bitterness of sin.  They hated it straight away and refused to take more.

We read and talked about how Jesus was wrapped in linen cloth and buried in a tomb. Wrapped the boys up using their bed sheets so that they can visualise how the burial was.

The wriggly Nathanael...

We made our resurrection garden. Zech was excited about it. He even chose the potato and bought it himself at the Indian provision shop opposite our block. The potato represents the tomb with a stone in front. We decorated the garden with some stones, plants and dried flowers.

On Sat morn, we had hot cross buns for breakfast. This is almost a family tradition for us now as it's the second year we are having these buns for breakfast. Bought the buns at Cedele. Classic hot cross buns with raisins and cinnamon and pandan hot cross buns. This year, we ate them with some maple syrup. Nathanael had difficulty finishing his classic bun but Zech loved the pandan flavoured one.

On Sunday morn, just before we went to church, we opened the last resurrection egg, which has nothing inside because Jesus has risen!

Our cause for celebration is simple. Because Jesus is risen, He has given us hope for tomorrow. What a wonderful saviour He is!
